Celebrating American Business Women’s Day

Think back to a time when you might have received a badge of some sort. Maybe it was a badge you earned as a Boy Scout or Girl Scout, as a community volunteer or for campaigning on behalf of a political candidate. Or perhaps you know someone who is a first-responder or member of law enforcement who carries a badge. In just about every case that matters, the badge represents a personal commitment to something that badge-holder cares deeply about and believes in.

Today is American Business Women’s Day, and, today, Tier One added a badge to its website signifying our official status as a women-owned business.  There are 68 million American women in the workforce, and that’s a powerful thing for our economy and our nation. At Tier One, we have had the great honor of exercising our minds, along with our hearts and souls, on our clients’ behalf for nearly 15 years. We’ve been joined in that exercise by the most dedicated, skilled, resourceful and joyful team on the planet.

We view our new badge as a tribute to and a point of pride (we hope) for all of the incredible people who encouraged us along the way: Smart, successful people like Larry Weber, Lisa Pintchman Rogers, Patty Stone, Doreen Thompson, Lois Kelly, Marijean Lauzier, Phil Greenough, Jeanne Bock, Cathy Lugbauer and others – who helped us sharpen our skills and grow as communication pros and whom we admire greatly.  And clients like TradeKing/Ally Invest, GHX, EnerNOC, Nanoco Technologies, Virgin Pulse, and Collibra that gave us a seat early at the table and welcomed our input and ideas.

By displaying our NWBOC badge, we’re conveying our gratitude for that opportunity. We know it’s not one afforded to women everywhere, and we don’t take it for granted.

Be sure to wish your grandmothers, moms, aunts, sisters, daughters, and granddaughters a Happy American Business Women’s Day for us. And thank you!
