Your Prompt Is Its Command

The generative AI genie has been out of the bottle for a while. But it has a new destination: LinkedIn feeds.

The professional networking platform has been reporting massive growth since 2018. In March, LinkedIn announced the integration of a suite of generative AI tools, including collaborative articles. Now, it’s developing AI-generated feed posts. The new feature will allow users to input prompts like “opinion on a new trend” or “advice on career or projects” to generate posts.

LinkedIn is the go-to B2B social media app, and the new AI tools could save you time in crafting content, making it easier to scale your company and executive team's thought leadership strategy on the platform. Along with Snapchat, LinkedIn is among the first social media platforms to offer in-app generative AI, which could aid in creating content that performs well on that particular platform. As with all AI tools, it’s important to review the content it generates to give it a human touch and tweak as you see fit. Look out for this new feature when it rolls out.

TL;DR: LinkedIn is experimenting with generative AI feed posts. The feature could help you scale your thought leadership on the platform.

App Alert

Hesitant to use AI because you’re worried the content it generates won’t be on-brand? Early-stage startup Nova released two new tools in beta that aim to give marketers peace of mind: BrandGPT and BrandGuard.

How it Works:

With a set of AI models trained on thousands of style guides and brand examples, BrandGuard checks the quality and style of marketing content to ensure it’s on-brand, brand-safe, and free of errors. The tool then assigns a content score, and from there, users can decide whether to use the content as-is or bring in a human to modify it as necessary.

BrandGPT can be best described as a brand translator. Using open source tools, brand data, and BrandGuard, the chatbot can answer questions about a particular brand like “What colors does it use, and what emotions do they convey?” or “Who is a brand’s ambassador, and who would be good potential collaborators?”

Why We Care:

Data privacy, ethics, and brand integrity are all concerns marketers must grapple with when considering how to best utilize generative AI. These two new tools could offer brands greater quality control.

A Delicious Text

Deconstructed tacos and gourmet nachos are fun, but sometimes you just want a good, old-fashioned burrito. To celebrate National Burrito Day, Chipotle brought it back to basics with the comfort-food equivalent of a marketing campaign.

While brands love elaborate and bold stunts, it’s good to remember that often less is more. The fast-casual restaurant took a straightforward approach to the food holiday this year, opting for a laid-back Twitter campaign instead of its typical flashy tactics — and fans loved it.

On April 6, the @ChipotleTweets account posted a series of codes throughout the day that followers could text to a number for a chance to win a free burrito. The activation was a resounding success, and each round of text codes was claimed in under a minute. In total, more than 1 million SMS messages were sent, and Chipotle received over 150,000 requests from hungry customers asking for a free burrito on social media.

The simple social media giveaway left Chipotle with much more to celebrate than just burritos, as the promotion led to its second-largest digital sales day of all time and the highest one-day volume of interactions on social media.

In marketing, it’s easy to get distracted by the latest shiny object. But tried-and-true conventional methods like text-to-win contests can still be super effective and win the hearts of loyal customers.

TL;DR: The success of Chipotle’s text-to-win Twitter campaign is a great reminder to never discount the power of going back to basics.
